Wellness in the Field event brings rest, connection and joy to direct service providers

The Community Impact Network (Network) hosted its fourth annual Wellness in the Field event on Friday, September 25. What began with our Service Team recognizing the need for a designated, accessible space where Network members could prioritize their well-being has grown into one of our largest and most anticipated events of the year.
Nearly 100 people who serve the 24:1 community joined us for an intentionally designed experience centered on rest, connection and wellness. Participants were invited to slow down and engage in a variety of self-care activities, including yoga, energy readings, art therapy, massages, facials and more.
A staple of Wellness in the Field is our free Wellness Marketplace. This year’s marketplace featured craft kits, locally made candles, guided journals, backpacks, yoga mats and other items designed to help attendees incorporate moments of wellness into their everyday routines. Whether through aromatherapy, movement, creativity or mindfulness, attendees could choose what worked best for them.
This year, we expanded the marketplace experience with two additional activations. Attendees could personalize marketplace items with patches or custom embroidery and gather together to create bracelets and bag charms. The evening also included nutritious soul food and a mocktail bar featuring two signature drinks.
Activities and experiences included:
- Chair Massages: Massage by Design
- Yoga & Energy Readings: She Healz
- Dinner: Bonappetese by Chef Tese
- Mocktail Bar: Lush Libations
- Custom Embroidery: AP Embroidery
- Facials: Kleanse by Kay
- Art Therapy: Zig Zag & Zay Mobile Art Venues
- Healing Sessions: Black Healers Collective
As we look ahead to our end-of-year awards ceremony, A Night with the Stars, the Network also used the event as an opportunity to encourage attendees to recognize people making an impact across the 24:1 community. Those who submitted an award nomination by the event date were entered into a drawing for complimentary facials, allowing us to provide 11 additional self-care experiences. Attendees could also participate in self-guided facials using products provided by Kleanse by Kay.
Know someone whose service to the 24:1 deserves to be recognized? Submit a nomination for A Night with the Stars here.
Throughout the event, the buzz of conversation filled the space. Members connected more deeply with colleagues, fellow partners and themselves. That sense of connection is exactly what our Service Team envisioned when Wellness in the Field began four years ago.
As the Network’s President & CEO, Neosha Franklin, says, “We are in service to the community, but we are also in service to each other.”
Wellness in the Field is a reflection of that belief. By creating space for the people who serve our community to pause, connect and care for themselves, we strengthen the people and relationships that make our collective work possible.
