Description
This back-to-school event provides free shoes, backpacks, school supplies, physicals, haircuts and more for students in the Normandy Schools Collaborative. Beyond Housing operates the event with help from multiple community partners.
In 2023, Beyond the Backpack volunteers distributed 1,400 shoes and 1,600 backpacks full of school supplies, in addition to providing more than 100 physicals and screenings and 75 haircuts. It also raised more than $45,000 in sponsorships and individual donations.
